The three southwest women on this gourd each has a malachite cabochon head.  Each one has their own individual headdress and robe.  The green from the stone head is picked up in the colors of the robe and headdress.

The Guardians E-mail

This deeply carved gourd represents a southwest basket decorated with three bears.  The bear is thought of as a protector or guardian.  Each bear has it's own individual southwest design inside the body.  The bears are separated by  borders and bear paws.  The colors are several shades of brown with a turquoise  accent.

Lazy Lizards E-mail

Lizards are a favorite theme of the artist. This frolicking group of lizards has a south west feel. Each lizard has its own southwest design on its body. The gourd has been stained with leather dye and the lizards are done in three shades of green. All Colors are translucent so the natural shading of the gourd shows through.
